This Privacy Policy describes how Divine Blizz Catholic Media Trust (“Divine Blizz”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, protects and shares information when you use the Divine Blizz mobile applications, websites and associated digital services (“Services”).

In this Policy, the term “personal information” includes any information that identifies or makes an individual identifiable. When you access or use our Services, we may generally collect the personal information described below.

  • Google Account info (name, email, profile picture, age range) if using Google Login

    Whether you’re taking a photo, answering Divine Blizz a question, or getting directions, you can do it knowing that Divine Blizz doesn’t gather your personal information to sell to advertisers or other organizations.

    • IP address, general geo-location (not GPS precision)
    • App usage events (buttons clicked, screens visited)
    • Local Storage Data (settings, cached pages, prayer progress stored ON DEVICE ONLY)

    The app may request location access to: Suggest nearby Mass timings or Catholic churches, Personalize some experience
    Location is not stored permanently and not shared with third parties. By using location features, you agree to Google Maps API Terms of Service.

    Data Deletion
    You may delete your account at any time using our automated portal:

    Data Retention

    We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes stated in this policy or as required by law:

    Account Data:

    • Active accounts: Retained until you delete your account
    • Inactive accounts: Accounts inactive for 36 consecutive months will receive notice before deletion
    • After deletion: Account data is permanently erased within 30 days

    Analytics & Performance Data:

    • Crash logs and performance metrics: Up to 24 months from collection
    • App usage analytics: Up to 24 months from collection
    • After retention period: Data is permanently deleted or anonymized

    Support Communications:

    • Email/phone support records: Up to 36 months from last communication
    • Resolved issues: May be anonymized after 12 months

    Newsletter/Marketing Data:

    • Retained until you unsubscribe
    • After unsubscription: Removed from active lists within 30 days
    • Legal records of consent: Up to 3 years for compliance purposes

    Transactional/Donation Records (when implemented):

    • Receipt and tax records: 7 years as required by Indian tax law and international standards
    • Payment method information: Deleted within 90 days after transaction unless required for recurring donations

    Location Data:

    • Last location-based api provided lat/long data is stored for better personalization
    • It gets overwritten with next usage and gets deleted when the user account is deleted 

    Backup Systems:

    • Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before permanent deletion

    Legal Holds:

    • If required by law enforcement or pending legal proceedings, we may retain data beyond standard periods
    • You will be notified when legally permissible
    Data Sharing

    We share information only with trusted processors needed to operate our Services, including:

    • Google Firebase / Google Play Console

    • Cloud hosting providers (mainly AWS us-west-2 region)

    • Email delivery systems

    These providers process data strictly under agreements — not for their own use.

    We do not sell data.

    Cookies and Local Storage
    • Website may use cookies (analytics and preference cookies)

    • Mobile app uses on-device storage to store settings and progress
      Users may disable cookies in browser/device settings.

    6. Children’s Privacy

    Users of any age may view faith content Account creation & data-collecting features are only for users 16+ in the EU We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16 in the EU If a parent believes a minor’s data is collected, contact us to request deletion
    In the United States (COPPA), account creation is only available to users aged 13 and above. Children under 13 may use Divine Blizz without logging in.
    Age Verification & Consent Mechanisms

    When creating an account, users encounter age verification before accessing data-collecting features:

    Before proceeding to login, a clear notice is shown to the user

    • Clear notice: "Only 13+ (U.S.) / 16+ (EU) may create accounts"
    • This appears before the login screen
    • Users of any age may browse faith content (Bible, prayers, videos) without logging in
    • No personal data is collected for non-account users beyond technical logs
    Parental Consent (where required)

    For jurisdictions requiring verifiable parental consent for minors:

    • We do not actively target or market to children
    • If a parent believes a minor's data was collected, contact us immediately for deletion

    7. International Data Transfer

    Our servers and service providers may be located in countries outside your own. By using the app, you understand that your information may be processed in those countries.

    We primarily use providers such as Google Firebase, Google Play Services, and cloud hosting platforms which apply commonly accepted security standards. We use encryption in transit, access controls, and reasonable technical safeguards to protect user information.

    We do not make legal representations about foreign laws or adequacy decisions. If you are located in a region with data protection laws (such as GDPR in the EU), your rights under those laws continue to apply, including the right to access, correct, delete, and withdraw consent. You may request these rights by contacting us.

    India – DPDPA
    For users in India, we process personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDPA) to the extent applicable. Users may request access, correction, or deletion of data as provided in this Policy.

    We use commercially reasonable physical, digital, and managerial safeguards. However, no system is guaranteed 100% secure.
    Do Not Track Disclosure (CalOPPA)
    Some browsers send a “Do-Not-Track” (DNT) signal. Our systems currently do not respond to every DNT signal, but: We do not sell or track users for advertising We do not profile or use ad personalization

    Our Services may link to external Catholic resources or YouTube integrations. We are not responsible for third-party privacy practices or content.

    12. Legal Age requirements

    • United States (COPPA): Account creation is only permitted for users 13 years and older. Children under 13 may use the app without logging in.

    • European Union (GDPR): Account creation is only permitted for users 16 years and older.

    • All ages may view content in the app without an account.

    If you believe a minor’s data is collected, contact us for deletion.

    13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements.

    • In-app notification banner for material changes
    • Email notification to registered users (for significant changes affecting rights)
    • If material changes significantly affect how we use personal data, we will notify users in-app or by email when applicable.

    Material Changes: Significant changes affecting how we collect, use, or share data will require re-consent where legally required (especially for EU, Brazil, and Canada).

    Continued Use: By continuing to use Divine Blizz after the updated policy takes effect, you accept the changes. If you disagree, please delete your account before the effective date.
